its already impressive upper limits of power.
The AMP mono blocks represent the cutting edge of Audionet’s Ultra Linear
Amplifier technology. Circuit topology that was originally developed for precise
medical imaging delivers a barely measurable signal to noise ratio. The
efficiency and precision of ULA technology is such that the acoustic properties
of components and materials are the limiting factors in its design. For this
reason, every sound-critical point is fitted with the finest components
available worldwide, and in many cases, manufactured for this purpose only.
Specialists in the USA, for example, forge the 41,000 μF filter capacitors. The
medical grade electrolytic capacitors built in Japan are fitted with a
dielectric made of silk. Internal wiring is made from an electrum alloy, with
connections assembled by WBT, our neighbors in Essen, Germany.
In order to guarantee perfect channel separation, the AMP is designed as a
pair of mono amplifiers. Magnetically optimized, the assembly of the mono blocks
largely eliminates feedback from electromagnetic interference, as well as
reciprocal influences between amplification channels. In order to perfect the
high-frequency attributes, signal paths are kept to a minimum and contain no
sound-impairing components such as coils, chokes, or relays. The AMP is
configured as a double-differential amplifier with a low noise, monolithic dual
FET, thus making the end amplifiers electrically independent of the input
signal, and avoiding interference with the power supply.
With a unique and elaborate correction stage, distortions are linearized
locally in real time making the level of total distortion scarcely detectable.
The voltage stabilization system features its own 850-VA transformer and filter
capacitance. A microprocessor unit with a separate power supply controls all
subsystems, monitoring current, frequency, and temperature. This prevents any
damage by disconnecting the AMP in the case of a fault.
